October is NC Beer Month!
#NCBeerMonth is an annual celebration held in October to honor North Carolina's thriving craft beer industry. From big cities to small towns, North Carolina has more than 400 breweries and brewpubs – the most in the American South – making independent craft beer an essential part of our state’s experience. Throughout the month, breweries and taprooms host special events, beer releases, brewery tours, festivals, and collaborations, encouraging both residents and visitors to explore the state's vibrant craft beer scene. It's a chance for beer lovers to experience YOUR unique brews and support local businesses. Here’s how you can get involved and help us celebrate!

NC Public House at the NC State Fair
NC State Fair attendees can visit the NC Public House to sample a wide array of NC-produced craft beer and wine this October 17-27! As our primary fundraiser of the year and the main source of our annual funding for operations, we encourage all NCCBG member breweries to participate!

Untappd Passport Sweepstakes
Untapped's passport sweepstakes is a great initiative for beer lovers to visit different breweries across the state, all while earning points to enter them into a grand prize - (4) Ale Trail By Rale tickets, transportation museum passes, a two-night hotel stay, and a gift card to New Sarum Brewing!

Traditionally, Governor Roy Cooper will proclaim October as NC Beer Month. The proclamation reaffirms North Carolina’s vibrant and rich craft beer heritage. From locally malted grains to expertly crafted lagers and ales, North Carolina has gained international recognition for craft beer excellence. Beginning in 1985 with Weeping Radish, the independent craft beer industry has grown to 400+ breweries today. Known as “The State of Southern Beer,” the industry contributes more than $2.26B to the state’s economy and has been instrumental in revitalizing many small towns and cities throughout the state.
The independent North Carolina craft beer industry is proud to serve our citizens and is committed to helping to build the communities we serve. We invite you to join the month-long celebration of North Carolina brewing craftsmanship by visiting your local brewery for a socially-distanced pint or picking up curbside beer-to-go.
